Terms of use for the freeBible, sermon and quote apps
Last updated: 2026-11-04
These terms apply to the free apps John Tibell publishes on Google Play and the App Store: the offline Bible apps, the sermon and audio apps (including Share the Sermon) and the quote apps, and to the websites that go with them, offline.bible and sharethesermon.com. By using an app you agree to them. They are short on purpose.
Who provides the apps
The apps are made by John Tibell, a sole trader in Sweden trading as Tentmaker Sweden. Write to [email protected]. The trader details that EU law asks for are shown on each app's store page.
Free, with nothing to buy
The apps are free. They show no ads, need no sign-in, and sell nothing. If you started a voluntary donation subscription in an older version of an app, it continues as you chose, and you can cancel it at any time in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions).
Using the apps
Use them for your own reading, listening, study and worship, and share what they let you share: a verse, a quote image, a link to a sermon. Please don't sell the apps or their content, put ads around it, or present it as your own.
The content and who owns it
Bible texts are in the public domain or used under the open licence named in the app's About screen and store listing.
Sermons and other recordings remain the property of the preachers and ministries who hold their rights. Sermons a church uploads to Share the Sermon belong to that church and follow the terms for churches.
Quotes come from public-domain editions and translations of the author's writings.
The apps themselves (code, design, icons) are John Tibell's. Fonts and other parts made by others are used under their own licences, listed in the app.
Something wrong, or yours?
If a text, quote or recording is wrong, or misattributed, or you hold the rights to something in an app and haven't agreed to its use, write to [email protected]. Say which app and which item (and, for a rights question, what you hold the rights to). Material a rights holder objects to is taken out promptly, usually the same day, while I look into it. In Share the Sermon, every church sermon also has a "Report a problem" link.
As it is
The apps are given free of charge and as they are. I work to keep the texts and recordings accurate and the apps available, but I can't promise they are free of errors or always available, and an app or a collection may change or be withdrawn. As far as the law allows, I'm not liable for indirect loss from using the apps. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have, or a liability that can't be limited, under the law of the country you live in.
Privacy
Each app has its own privacy policy, linked from its store page: the Bible and quote apps' on johntibell.com, the sermon apps' on sharethesermon.com. In short: the apps collect nothing about you.
Changes and law
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Swedish law applies, without taking away the protection the law of your own country gives you as a consumer.
