PedometerA step counter without ads.

Your phone already counts your steps. Pedometer shows them: big, clear, and without anyone trying to sell you something. It's free, and there is no paid version, because there is nothing to remove.

A goal, if you want one

The ring around the count fills as you walk. Without a goal it stays quiet.

A sample week. The last bar is today, and it's yours.
How it counts

Open it and it counts

Your phone has a chip that counts steps, but only while some app keeps it awake. Pedometer does that, quietly in the background, and shows the number.

The chip draws a tenth of a milliamp and never wakes the processor, so the battery barely notices. It counts while the app is closed, and carries on after a restart. And while the app is open, the number moves with every step you take.

Three questions

Calories, if you want them

Tap Want to see calories? and answer three questions: weight, height and sex. Weight is the only one that really moves the number. Height turns steps into distance. Sex you can skip.

The app doesn't ask for your age. Age is only needed to guess what you burn on the sofa, and that number is never shown. You see what the steps gave: about 250 kcal for 10,000 steps if you weigh 70 kg.

While you walk

Your pace, and a screen that can stay on

While you walk the app shows your pace: kilometres an hour, and how long a kilometre takes. The screen can stay on too, if you choose. A lit screen is the only thing in the app that uses battery, which is why it's your choice. It goes dark as usual when the steps stop.

What you don't get

Nothing to remove

0ads

Not now, not later. There is no paid version, because there is nothing to remove.

0accounts

No e-mail, no login, no password. Open the app and it counts.

0servers

Your steps never leave the phone. Your history follows the phone's own backup.

“No points, no friends to beat, no confetti at ten thousand.”

Your week is seven bars, one per day, with yesterday next to today and a goal if you set one.
