Provfiske.se makes Sweden's scientific survey fishing searchable: species, sizes, depths and ecological status for thousands of lakes, streams and stretches of coast, recorded since 1952.

Every measured fish was caught at a known depth. Pick a species and see where it was found.

Ecological status, water by water
Each water's fish tell how the water itself is doing, on a scale from high to bad. Of the waters with a status, 3,254 are high or good, 2,017 moderate, and 1,945 unsatisfactory or bad.
The same nets, year after year
Unlike angling, survey fishing uses the same gear, at the same time of year, set the same way. So one year can be compared with another, and one water with the next.
Nets in lakes, electrofishing in streams, mostly for salmon and trout, and surveys along the coast.
