Holonga, Vavaʻu, Tonga · September 2021The water-mobile
The village pump in Holonga broke, and for almost two weeks there was no water in the taps. We had a rainwater tank for drinking water, but it was almost empty. There had been no rain for many days, which is unusual for Vavaʻu.
Thanks to a neighbour, we could fetch water from a prison nearby. We put an old washing machine on the trailer and drove over to fill it, two rounds a day, then carried the water in buckets to whatever needed doing: laundry, dishes, everything. We called it our water-mobile.
On the twelfth day I asked for prayer, for rain and for the pump.
The next morning the tap water started to work again, just a few hours after I asked. That day I had my first shower in fourteen days. What a blessing it is to have water.
Two days later heaven opened. The rain fell and filled our tank again. In Tonga you can drink the water from heaven directly.

“Drinking water, freely supplied by God!”
